A very important thing is don't leave your seat exposed to the elements when you have your ATV in storage. I left mine uncovered and after five years the sun caused it to crack. It looked perfectly fine every time I looked at it until one day it wasn't and it was too late. I sealed the cracks with silicone to keep water from getting into the foam and now I leave it covered most of the time, not just in winter like I used to.
