96 sportsman 400 bogs

OK guys I have a 96 sportsman 400 and it starts and runs great until I put it in forward and try to go it does the exact same thing as reverse as in reverse has the override button to push and override I call slow mode it acts like it is limited in forward ran fine no problems then just started wasn't slow coming it just happened it's almost like I need to push the override button to go forward what do I check disable replace it can't be major when it's in neutral it revs up normal like it's brand new just retards in forward if it's a safety switch trust me if can can get rid of it I will please help

Pull the fuel tank plastic off.On the left side is the circuit board. At the top of the board is two black wires. One is the cdi kill wire,the other black wire goes to the reverse limiter. Pull the wire leading to the reverse limiter and tape the end of the wire and tuck it out of the way. This should solve the problem on limiting in forward plus you wont have to push the over ride button in reverse to get full power. This was a common problem on limiters shorting out. Some would die when placed in reverse,or would only stay running in reverse with the over ride button pushed. Others would limit in forward range. You'll know real quick if you've pulled the right black wire.. If you can't kill it with the key,then you've pulled the ignition kill wire..
