Okay ive replaced the stator and the left hand switch block and also tried a known good cdi and nothing solved the issue
the quad will spark but only after the starter button is released and i can ground the black/white wire from the cdi and make it spark consistently


so my question is has anyone run into this and if so what did you do and check and the wire diagram i have isnt very good so im not entirely sure what it is i am bypassing when grounding the black/white wire


also checked the coil that was good

 

Don't have a later wiring schematic than a 2002,but a black/white also goes to the tethered safety switch. Try bypassing this switch and tying these two wires together and see if you have good spark.

 

I have a black/yellow and green coming from the saftey bypassed that and it didnt fix it but the odd thing is sometimes when wiggling the lanyard the spark will pick up however when bypassing the switch it goes straight back to only sparking once starter button is released

 

I just tried wiggling the lanyard again but this time to effect
