2001 polaris scrambler 500 gas leak

Default 2001 polaris scrambler 500 gas leak

Hi I have 2001 polaris scrambler 500 and I found gas leaking from the first exhaust gasket close to the motor drips out of there any ideas thanks

Carb kit is the first thing I'd do after checking the oil to make sure it isn't gas contaminated.This is the best kit around.Polaris Scrambler 500 Carburetor Repair Kit Fits 1998 2002 Carb Shindy 03 408 | eBay Float must be set right or it can still leak. Some even if set right will drip now and then. Here's a good article on this BST40 carb and how to set the float level among other things. Used on a Ktm,but carb is similar is most areas.The BST-40 Bible | Adventure Rider

OK thanks I cleaned the carb the other day but it just started doing that and haven't ran the quad yet just started it today for the first time in a month

Cleaning a carb is usually a waste of time. No sense in having to pull a carb more than once. Needle and seats are the parts that wear the most and if worn enough,trying to set the float level wont always work. Install a good carb kit,set the float level and be done with it.
