Default No/Weak spark

I got a Chinese 110 dirt bike a few weeks ago, I think it’s a lyfan?

I replaced the piston and rings because it was smoking. When I went to start it, it didn’t have spark. I found a loose connection on the wire from the CDI to the coil, I fixed the connection and it ran great for a few days. The other day I drove it around for an hour or two, I turned it off and did something else for maybe an hour, I came back and it wouldn’t start, it didn’t have spark.

I wiggled wires and it would sometimes have spark and start but it would only run for a few seconds, and then cut out. Trying to bring the RPMS up made it cut out faster.

I’ve been checking resistances on all the wires and parts, I found a loose connection on the spark plug wire, so I clipped the ends and put it back together, it seems to have a good connection now.

its not the kill switch, I have it unplugged.

the spark plug has ~5k resistance.

I think the CDI is bad and maybe the coil. when I was testing the coil (power to output)sometimes I would get a reading and sometimes it would say “open line”. When Itested the CDI the same thing happened.

I’ll attach photos of my drawing of the wiring diagram (don’t make fun of me, I’m not anelectrician) and my resistance readings.

Do you think the stator, coil or CDI is bad? Or both?

I’ve heard that maybe when the stator goes it takes the CDI with it?

Also does anyone know what the compression should be on one of these?

Default Opps!

A few of the readings were milliohms, I’ll have to recheck my readings.

Default Stator?

I think my stator must be bad. My reading from the stator to ground is 167! Shouldn’t it be around 350-400?

Can a bad stator make the CDI go bad?

Is there a way to test a CDI?

Thanks!

Default I just went out and checked again

I got similar reading on everything.
Except for:
Input tab on coil (power) to plug cap was open.

I’ve already trimmed the spark plug wire…

I think I must have a few problems, the odd thing is, why did they all happen at once? Unless there was some sort of chain reaction?

sorry for all the separate posts!

Default Any ideas or suggestions?

Does anyone know how to test a cdi box? Or stator?
