My son has a 110 her chee atv that he replaced, and checked the cdi, stator, coil, and regulator, but he has no spark. He checked all the grounds and disconnected the kill wire on cdi, and still has no spark. Is there anything else he needs to check? Any thing is greatly appreciated.

 

Would the kill wire not connected to any thing reading 0.10 ohms cause the no spark?

 

My son got to looking and found that the pick up coil is not sending any power for the spark. He tested it, when the multimeter was on ohms it was around 145.6 ohms, but when he change it to VAC, then turned the engine over and it read nothing. does he just need a new pick up coil, or is there a way to fix the old one?

 

If he changed the stator, wouldn't he have got a new pick up coil with it? The voltage can be quite low on a pick up coil, sometimes less than 1v so be sure it isn't producing volts before spending yet more money.

 

Thank you, merryman, he tried to start the quad and it started after a few cranks. it's running great now.
