OMG!!!! And to think I'm paying $386.00 a year in Calif. This state SUCKS for registration......but the riding is pure heaven.....
Ain't that the truth! and whatever you do, don't buy the 1 tons. DMV screws you even worse.
Dbeck, why did you decide to go with the Dodge?

96 Ranger 2.3l with quad in the bed. I just took it on the first trip today, and man it was a blast (just bought my quad on Thursday). This place we went too was seriously muddy. The other two trucks with me were two Chevy 1/2 tons with trailers, and they need 4x4 to get through. Thank goodness for the weight on the back tires from the quad, or else I'd of been stuck in the mud. But even with some slight baloney tires, I did pretty damn good.
This guy in a 2-wheel drive picked the wrong way to go, and nearly slammed into someone else because he spun his tires so much. Then again he had a trailer.
Heh, the little engine that could in my ranger.

2001 F150. I put it in the bed until i got my winch and it wouldnt fit. Then I got a 7x8 utility trailer, and the axle came out from under it on the highway and bent my wheelers rims, excuse to get new wheels and tires! Also an excuse to buy a new trailer. Now I use a 5x10 trailer with dovetail and built in ramps. (and a 3500 pound axle with 15 inch rims) It makes is so much nicer and I have room for all my gear now.

check out my reply to the thread "bedhigh atv carrier" on this topic/forum. I think I've got a really good set-up compared to a lot of the other stuff i see for trying to have the best of both worlds. really like the sound of that Cummins m/h though, but then I lose my truck and transportation when we're camped. If $$ wasn't an object...

Its nice to load on the hay beds. We drive on from the side and then move the ramps to the other side to unload. Just drive off no backing down ramps. If several others are going I load them into the stock traylor dont know how I could ever get enough atv packed to make a load for the duramax.

We are taking our new truck out today for the first time pulling the trailer. It's a new '03 Dodge Ram 3500 quadcab dually 4X4 with the HO Cummins turbo diesel. (there's pics of it in our folder) I don't think the 7X16 trailer will be a problem at all! I'm just hoping the duals will fit on the skinny W.V. backroads!! (Mrs. Q)
