Default Homebuilt ATV Utility Trailer

ATV trailers - is it for the ATV or is it for the ATV ?

We need some way to readily distinguish between a trailer meant to haul the ATV from hither to yon and one intender to be towed by the ATV...... then there's the class of trailers that you put the ATV on and haul the ATV where you need to, unhook it from the truck, hook it up to the ATV and "Voila" - it's now an ATV utility trailer. Confused yet ????

Last year I built a utility trailer for my ATV by taking a plain-jane garden cart from Harbor Freight and builsing a proper trailer, with removeable stake sides, atop the chassis. I'll post the picture on my photo page sometime today.

This technique worked quite well - BUT - it could stand a few improvements: slightly larger sized bed (length and width), lower center of gravity, wider set wheels and ATV type balloon tires.

Here's my question(s):
1) Where would a person look to buy ATV wheels and tires from someone who upgraded their ATV with after-market ?

2) What would be a reasonable price to pay for take-off tire and wheel?

You can get the big balloon atv tires and wheels for a trailer or cart at "Tractor Supply"... or Northern Tool comapnies... both carry a decent stock,and they do web orders as well. Northern tool has a large stock of trailer parts too!
