how to load 2 atv's on 5x10 trailer?
Hi, I have a 5x10 utility tariler with no back and was wondering how to haul two atv's safely. I have a Yfz450 and a 400ex. Both wheelbases are too long to haul turned sideways unless I hang the tires over the edge. Is there a way to safely piggyback them?? Or any other ideas???
Thanks.
Thanks.

Maybe a simple mod to the trailer?
Depending on how high your front bed rails are, you could add two wooden ramps up front so the front bike could ride up on them. This would put the front bike up on an angle with a little bit of it overhanging the tongue. You'd need to make sure that your tow vehicle could handle the extra tongue weight
Same idea except out the back - bolt on just enough of extension ramps to hold the second quad. You've got to be careful with this one, too much weight behind the trailer axle and you'll loose tongue weight and start to fishtail at speed.
Only other way would be to bolt on four skids (2x10's or 2x12's) sideways across the tops of your trailer side rails, two for each bike. Then you could load then sideways. Makes for a taller trailer load and you'd need to be extra careful about strapping them down, but it should work.

I defenetly wouldn't piggy back them..since they don't have racks....my buddy has a 5x10 and we can fit my scrammy 500 and a trailboss 330 in it...on the front of the trailer were the tongue is...we just hang the front end of one quad over the rail...that gives enough room for the second quad on the back...then just strap the crap out of them.....works for us just fine..

how to load 2 atv's on 5x10 trailer?
same problem i had , i have a 4x8 trailer and made some metal ramps to bolt on over the front rail by about 2ft and added a foot extension to the back . i made the trailer with a longer tounge then normal so the extensions were easy now i can carry 2 or one wheeler if going for a quick ride , food for thought..

Your 4 x 8 Trailer
Hi Deanz400,
I was reading your thread about you upgrading your 4 x 8 trailer to fit 2 ATV's. I'm in the same situation right now. I wanted to ask if you could please email me pictures of the trailer from a few angles and any custom work you did as I need to do the same. Thanks so much.
