Gotta agree about chev vs gmc.

I've never had a problem with the creek. I've always made it past that. Now, once past that, all bets are off. LOL. I've been towed probably 3 or 4 times. Not bad considering I've never have a 4x4.
And RD, she's got a GMC. The Chevy's are ugly *$$ trucks.

I too, watch the ones crossing the creek in front of me to see what the best route So, I can watch someone else ruin $60k+++ worth of toys
And it is very entertaining Sort of like when I worked the reservoirs Would watch the husband argue with the wife about backing the new boat trailer down the ramp Hubby didn't want to look like an idiot so, he had the wife do it Watched quite a few arguments and trucks get wet

I'd be scared backing a boat down the ramp the first time. Too much to go wrong.

Haven't been on a boat in 2.5-3 years. Did some fishing out of Morro Bay with my uncle. But then they pretty much shut that down to the point that it's just not worth it. $50 for the boat ride, you get like 10 fish. I can buy a LOT of fish here for that much. Plus you figure it costs $50 in gas, another $50 for a motel room for the night. 2 people you're looking at $100 a person for 10 fish.
Probably, maybe, go out on a boat this year. Supervisor is getting this boat his father in law gave him (like a '70-something 19' Chris Craft Lancer running. The intermediate outdrive bearing went out back in the early 80s sometime. The boats has like 50 hours on the timer. Replaced the bearing once, but it wouldn't hold oil so it's back in the machine shop. And that was like a $600 repair. Needs a good cleaning (been stored in a barn, so it's not THAT bad.) I'll be going out with the boss on his SeaSwirl that's about the same size and only 10 years old. Has about 200 hrs I think. Doesn't use it too much though. We're going to go so we can rescue my supervisor when his boat sinks. At least that's the joke.

I hear what you are saying. If you go out deep sea fishing it better be to enjoy the water Otherwise, it doesn't make sense monetarily
Is that chris craft wooden hull? If so, they are worth some money once fixed up, that is
Always a good idea to have a friend in a vessel next to you Just in case something goes wrong I've responded to too many accidents, with people in the water and everyone just sits there on the boat gawking No one wants to help anymore Unlike atvers

It's fiberglass, not wooden. Kind of a teal color, with a white stripe. It's really nothing special just looking at it.
What needs to be done:
1) Clean, Clean, Clean. White seats that are dingy lookin. Badges need to be rechromed and cleaned up.
2) Get new fuel tank. The old galvanized one is toast. Getting an Aluminum one fabricated.
3) Get Int. Outdrive back, install it back on the motor and install that with all the other engine bay guts.
4) Lower outdrive back on (NOT looking forward to that...what a PITA it was.)
5) Put it in the lake and hope it floats.
She's been apart for a good 6 mos. it seems like. Took 3 mos at least for the first bearing to get done. Hopefully they get it fixed faster.
The way boats are done is interesting, to say the least.

I usually show up around 10:00 pm and have to go it alone, kind of scary but I do take my time. The wife and I will go and sit just to watch the impatient people plunge into the creek crossing at hi tide with 2 wd, very entertaining.
My brother always has me back up his boat. I can only imagine what it would be like to spend some time at a boat ramp. The little time I have been there it has been amusing to me.
