A buddy of mine just bought a 2005 Sandpiper 26' toy hauler and had the front triangle area of the hitch bend up at a 45 degree angle....on the first trip. Apparently they double up on the structure on the 26+ foot trailers but not below 26', thus leaving him with an interesting ride home....AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING WHAT AMOUNTS TO "TOO BAD" Well they are going to court on this, and it is sad because I have a 38' Sierra 5th Wheel (Same manufacturer) and my sister has a 37' tow behind Sierra, and have had no problems, but this is a joke....
The Phantom......is greater than great.......

i bought an 05 23 salem last nov and it's junk along with the dealer and the manu. The 1 st time out it flooded and ruined $1500 worth of belongings, not to mention moisture in the wood from now on. Dealer and manu said nothings wrong and no damage. I will end up selling it and taking the hit, but leson learned i will buy nothing from forest river again. junnnnnnkkkk Oh yes, legal service are in.

That is too bad. What was the manufacturers reasoning for the bend of the tongue?
