full size quad in dakota crew cab truck?????
i am in the market for buying a new truck. i am looking at the dodge dakota crew cab and nissan frontier crew cab. is there any way for a full size quad to be hauled in the back of one of these trucks? i have a 700 prairie which is about 84" long. i am sure it would fit in a full size crew cab truck like a silverado but i am looking at the compact trucks because of price. i know it would fit width wise except it would go on top of the wheel wells. i was looking at the extended cab dakota and frontier but no adults can fit in the back seat. i guess i should wait until i can afford a full size crew cab truck ie silverado, ram, titan.

Ours fit in out 2002 and 2004 Dakota's, but the tailgate had to be down (back wheels were just on the gate). With the experience I had with front end troubles on both Dakota's, I'd get the Frontier. But, if you've got time, you can get a deal on a full size truck. Just got a 2006 Silverado crew cab for 22,500. Took some time, making dealers work against each other, but it's worth it. If you're not in a hurry for the truck, take about 2 weeks and see what kind of deal you can get with whichever brand you decide.

yeah i think i might wait till about june and see what kind of deals they have out. also i was looking at the wheel wells on the dakota crew cab and i think they will get hung up on the floor boards on my quad making it a pain to get unloaded. the frontier's wheel wells are at the front of the box making it easier to unload. but i'll wait and see what deals they have this summer.

I have a 04.5 Dodge CTD with SWB and just bought a 06 Polaris 500. I haven't tried to load it yet but I don't think the tailgate will close. I've thought about putting a pair of auto ramps in the p.u. bed and driving the Polaris up on those thereby "shortening" the 4-wheeler. Or maybe some 2x10's? I'd have to be very careful not to put the winch thru the rear window, tho! Would backing in the wheeler make any diff? I have to have the tailgate closed as I pull a '29 TT also.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
