Harbor Freight Trailers
Hello. First time to the forum.
I know there has been some discussion on these trailers before, but I was wondering if anyone knows if the 4x8 foldable harbor freight trailers with 8" tires have a leaf spring suspension? If so, is it a three leaf design? I have plenty of 4.80-12 tires wheels/tires laying around that I could put on one of the cheaper 8" harbor freight jobs. It sounds like the 8" and 12" tire option foldable trailers are pretty much identical, but just wanted to make sure. A suspension is a must, don't want the thing to bounce down the road.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

don't know about the 8" version, my 12 inch has leaf, i think it may only be 2 leaves though not 3, there also is a weight difference between the 2, i think the 8 inch was like 880 or something, mine is 1450, although that simply could be because of the tire rating, good luck!

I have the Harbor Freight 4x8 trailer and Ive had it for 5+/- years with no problems. Mine has a three leaf design with 8" wheels and can carry up tp 990lbs. Im selling mine to get a bigger trailer to carry 2 atv's, I can only fit 1 in this with maybe a few inches to spare.

What is the furthest you've taken it in one trip? I've taken mine about 600 miles round trip and thats about as far as I feel comfortable taking it. If you've had further trips without problems it'll make me feel a bit better about stretching my "range".

I was looking at getting one of those cheap trailer, even looked at lowes and homedepot. But I guess the decision was made for me when lowes and homedepot raised there prices by $100 bucks across the board. It made the one I wanted only $75 more. Its made by a company that makes there on trailors and has 15 inch tires and has a wood deck and a Y style hitch. Those T style worry me a little. Dont know why they just do. Anyway. I looked around alot and this summer I'll get a better made trailor that I can feel comfortable at 70 miles an hr. Those 12 inch tires I hear is only rated at 55mph. Where I ride is on my way to work and I tried to drive 55mph to work one day to see how it would feel driving that slow. As slow as I would have to go with a trailor in tow with only 12inch tires. It sucked.
