Default What size Trailer?

Whats the minimum size trailer that I can haul two sport quads and a Rhino? I'm thinking 16 or 18 ft? Does anyone with a Rhino have a simular situation?
Thanks

Well I have a 16 foot cargo trailer and you can get 4 sport quads in it side ways. Last time we went out we had 3 so 2 where side ways and the third was straight. This didnt leave much room at the end so I dont think the Rhino would of fit. So I would say a 18 would work

Are you talking open or enclosed? Also, how wide are you looking to pull? An 8 ft wide versus a 7 etc...

I ended up ordering a flatbed trailer that is 8 1/2ft wide x 16ft. By flatbed I mean one that has the bed above the wheels. Now this makes for a taller trailer but it was the only way I could find what I needed at a decent price. Most all of the trailer manufactures will build this type of trailer and the big problem is just deciding on which one. I'm going with a local shop and will make the purchase this weekend. The only reason I haven't pulled the trigger sooner is that I just took delivery of my Rhino last week.
Thanks

Congratulations. In my neck of the woods, they refer to these as Deckovers. I hope you have great luck with it. Pulling a Rhino around almost dictates an open trailer configuration.

For those of you still wanting an enclosed version, take a look at my trailer on my personal page. You will find an enclosed trailer that I use in my business. I had it specially made so it is 8 ft tall inside. Now because I have a generator box in the rear, I can't put a rhino in there, however if you delete the box, then you would have no problem.
Adding height is an easy thing to do with just about any manufacturer, but it comes with a cost. The height is getting up there, and pulling that beast in wind is a real chore. I had to upgrade to a diesel 4x4 to pull mine. Shhhh don't tell the wife.... that was my excuse for getting a new truck... but honestly, my Hemi could not pull it. At just under 11 ft tall with the AC on top, it pushes a lot of air. Weight wasn't the problem, air was. Even with a v-nose, it struggled.
If you add a few inches to the height, you can get by. Just make sure you add inches to the door opening too. As for inside dimensions, make sure you have 8 ft to put two quads side by side, and measure the space you have in front or behind the wheelwells. You will be surprised that in most trailers out there, you do not have enough room without having clearance problems with the wheel house.
Also a consideration, is the overall width of a trailer. An 8 ft wide versus a 7 ft wide doesn't sound like much until you have to try and see around one and make a lane change or back it up some time. Big difference.
In your case, a deck over is a wise choice. ALthough you CAN get an enclosed deckover that is 8 ft wide with ramp door in the v-nose.. of course the rhino would have to back out, but again, you would have to add height. Most of these are under 6 ft tall normally, and you will need a 7 ft tall one to clear the Rhino's cage. I actually started out to get one of these, but changed my mind after seeing just how tall that dude was going to be with it being 8 ft tall inside. It was pushing 12 ft tall.. and that was just too much weight to be that high. Another reason I moved to a 7 ft trailer was I could get one with no wheel wells inside.
Mine is very custom.. many featured you probably would never want or need, and cost twice the normal... But like I said, it was build for a specific purpose, and because I can write it off as a business expense, I can justify it.
If you have a local guy weld you up one, make sure he uses axles with the proper load rating, and they have good brakes. Can't tell you how important it is to have good brakes on ALL axles. YOu start pulling any sort of weight around, and you can easily over run you rtow vehicle's ability to stop safely.
Have fun, and hope to see you on the road some day...

I would loved to have an enclosed trailer but with my setup it just wasn't feasible and just like you mentioned I'm ordering it with brakes on ALL axles. It just isn't worth the risk of not having enough stopping power in any situation. The only thing I don't like is the wory of tying down all of the bikes securely. I'm having extra "D" rings installed on the trailer so that I have something to secure too in many different load situations.
Thanks

I have an 18 foot and haul a rhino verticle with trailer and can fit a KFX400 and Bigbear sideways on the rear. It all would not fit on a 16 foot trailer comfortably for sure, because we only have posibly a 1ft or 1ft and a half left off the end.
