Hey Teebone56,Sorry, I couldn't get back to your sooner. Well, I really appreciate your advice and took it very seriously too. I began to check if my 2007 LTZ Tahoe was leveled with the trailer so that the tongue had at least 10-15% tongue weight. My brother has a 2006 Silverado Turbo diesel crew cab 4X4 and towed the 22FK behind it. It drove like a champ! This is when your recommendation was put to play. I measured the height of the Tahoe and notice that my hitch was 22" of the ground and my brothers Silverado was only 17 inches. The problem was due to the fact that the 2007 LTZ comes standard with 20 inch wheels versus the Silverado's 16" which increased my hitch height. The attitude was sitting extremely high which was causing the truck to sway out of control. I purchase a different reciever hitch bar that had a 14 " drop versus the current 8" drop. I swapped the recievers and BINGO the ride was much better because the truck hitch and receiver where leveled. Thank you very much! Please enjoy your wknd!
Glad it worked out for you Loy. You never said if you were using an equalizer hitch, set up right they work wonders, I use the 1000lb bars.

2001 F250 V10 4x4 auto

I tow a 30' bumper hitch 9K lb Raptor toyhauler and a 33' 11K lb boat.

Gas mileage isn't very good, 6-7 towing and 11-12 around town empty.

If my truck wasn't paid off and 100% reliable, I'd look hard at a Dodge Cummins. My Dad just installed a Predator programmer in his 05 3500 Dodge dually 4x4 and gets 11.5 mpg towing my boat, he used to get 9 mpg before the programmer.

The computer programers that increase diesel truck power fool the computer into thinking it is giving less fuel to the engine than it really is, so the end result is the computer giving more fuel to the engine, and it makes more power. The thing is though, the programmer also fools the on board computer that calculates fuel mileage into thinking you are burning less fuel than you really are. Most programmers will show a 2 - 3 mpg gain in fuel mileage as calculated by the on board computer, even when there has been no improvement at all. If he was calculating fuel mileage by hand, instead of going by what the computer says, then he has gained fuel mileage.

How much does your boat and trailer weigh? My fiver weighs 17,000 fully loaded. That makes a stock Dodge getting 9 mpg, and a stock GMC getting 9 mpg. Looks pretty equal to me.
