If you only use one point of attachment,you are asking for a problem. I don't think anyone would even try it. It is made for a secure rear attachment and you are on your own to figure out how attach the front. Since owning mine I have hauled our Atv over 8k miles with no problems. If you are going to use straps,I agree on ratchet type,you should use 2".
