Product Review: Moto-Gate Tie Down Straps

Tie downs are a fact of life for ATV riders- we use them to secure expensive machines, gas cans, gear bags and if such things weren’t illegal, perhaps our significant others as well. Generally speaking there are two schools of thought when it comes to the tie down philosophy: the self locking and the ratchet method...

Nice review. I do like the extra loop idea. The current ratchet straps I have I also use for the street bike. The hook is just barely able to get over the chrome bars, and it has left a very light scratch in them. The loop would have prevented that. The carabiner end is interesting too. Even though I know the hooks aren't going to come off, it still sits in the back of my mind the might. That would eliminate that.

i would hope that the carabiner ain't the cheap "key ring" style and is actually a tough one,,,,as tough as the tie down hooks. as tough as "you would use them to climb with" tough.

I'll stick with ratchet tie downs. I've never had one of them loosen up and fall off like the other kind did.

I agree with Jumbo. I only use ratchet straps when tying down my equipment. Can never get the other style to the correct tension.
