There is no way I'll ever buy a new diesel, nothing but garbage, saddled with emissions garbage. Won't own a pre emissions diesel because they are rot boxes.

I'll stick with gassers.

 

No different that the gassers.. We ave just had the emissions crap on the gassers for longer. But you are rigth the pre emmisions diesels were great

 

Aside from Catalytic converters, the modern gas engine has none of the garbage they used to have. My 4.8LS does not even have an EGR.


DPF's waste diesel save the environment - how is that saving anything? And the fire hazard they pose if driving in a field..... Backwards thinking.

 

They may not have the same crap the new diesels have. But they have a lot of other crap hidden away. Manufacturers are just starting to get back to the same hp numbers they had before all this came into effect 20 years ago...

 

Nothing is hidden. Just 4 O2 sensors, 2 cats, but none of the aire pumps or the crap from the 1980's. They are not saddled down like the crap from that era, best gasses have ever been.

 

Dad decided we needed a new snow plow since the old one finally died. I didn't think we needed something this spendy that's just gonna sit in the shop probable 355 days a year but what do I know. I guess split too ways it wasn't too bad.

2014 F250 w/ about 50 K miles.

 

I have ridiculously low miles on my '01 Silverado 4x4. If I'm not mistaken it just turned over 31,000 miles Thursday. It stays parked most days and when I do go somewhere it's the grocery store a mile away more than anyplace else. After 16.5 years it should have closer to 165,000 or 198,000 miles. Road salt has taken a toll on it but it still runs good.

 

Gee Frank, and here I thought I was bad. 06 ram, Cummins, 65,000 miles. But in my defense, over half of those miles were put on it via my son and my wife. My son hauling Porsches all over the world, and my wife running back and forth to Florida to see the grandkids. Otherside I'd probably have less than 25,000.

 

Hey Deedawg. I don't typically get enough snow here in VA to justify a plow. At my age, if it is that bad, I stay home and let the professionals do their thing. I have a plow for the ATV, that is about all I need. I usually just park all the cars in the driveway on one side so I really don't have to shovel anything more than what the plow guys put in the drive when they make their pass.

 

I hear ya DB. Most years we get plenty of snow in Northern Minnesota so a good snow plow really comes in handy, especially since my cabin is so far back in the woods. An ATV really can't handle what we get some times, plus who the heck wants to plow snow with an ATV when it's 30 below???!!!
