I like the new Fords , apparently they have aluminum bodies now so rust should not be a issue any longer.

Gas milage was the number one reason I stepped up to my Cummins powered Dodge. I had a Hemi powered Ram 1/2 ton that I loved, but when I purchased a trailer for a business I was starting and went to the factory to pick it up, I learned right away that I had severely miscalculated the fuel issue. I averaged 4 to6 MPG pulling that moose of a trailer. (11 ft tall) all the way from Georgia to Virginia. When I traded up to a 3/4 ton with the Cummins Diesel, my milage went to 17 pulling the same trailer loaded with about 5000 lbs worth of gear. Which isn't too much less than the 20 I get with the truck alone. And that is a heavy beast all by itself. Nearly pushing 8000 with a full fuel load. If you are interested, Dodge Ram has put a diesel in the 1/2 ton now that is getting some impressive EPA fuel milage numbers. Either way, I am very happy I switched to diesel both for towing and daily driver.

Ah, you can't judge real world ability to perform the kind of work you need it to do by sales. And here is a something you need to consider too. That little myth that the smaller trucks that used to be on the market will get better gas milage. That is BS. You put any kind of weight at all in or behind it, and you are under powered, having to rev the crap out of it and have your foot in the gas all the time just to keep up. No, that is a real fast way to the poor house not only with fuel, but broken parts as well when you are over taxing the truck.

No I still think a full sized pickup is better if you need to haul or tow. And not sure if you have checked the exchange rate lately, but American parts for American vehicles are less because of it. I have nothing against foreign Asian trucks, but when it comes to value, the American truck sure makes better sense.

So far, my Titan has been the best full sized truck I've owned.

Dodge and Chevy did themselves in, along with service departments that couldn't figure out how to fix them. Might have bought a Ford, but of all things, the headrests hit mine and my wifes head the wrong way. Salesman suggestion was to just flip it around.

Almost got a diesel, but at the time my wife drove the truck more than I did. I really don't think I'd have heard the end of it if she had to fuel it up just once.

If you're buying anything just because it's the best seller, congratulations, you just made the ad departments day.

Part of Nissan's Titan not selling well is that they don't offer a heavy duty truck. I ended up putting a leaf on each side in the rear to give it better toting. Now it's much more controllable with a load of heavy wet hardwood.

And I got $9000 off the sticker price because they had a past year model available. The other pickups with similar equipment and capabilities were $12,000 to $15,000 more at the time than I paid for the Titan. Easy decision. It's also been a very good truck.

On my Chevy the gas gauge quit working. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the whole fuel pump assembly IIRC. That's the only thing to go wrong in 14 years so I'm still happy with it. On my old Chevy the alternator went out a little after 6 years when the warranty was up. Not too bad but after that happened I traded it in for the '01 I have now. I can't afford to buy one now because the truck I want lists for $36,000 with all the options I want. I don't know how much my employee discount would knock off of that but I'm broke anyway.

Interesting non biased comparison of heavy duty trucks.

And what I find most interesting is that each of them cost more than my house did.

And I got two bathrooms with it as well.

Honestly, I don't think any of them are making bad trucks. We all just managed to get a hold of the one that was made on Monday at one time or another. I'll bet I've walked away from more deals because of the salesman.

that's not why I posted them

I bought my truck because it was the most comfortable to sit in - the ergonomics are perfect for me.

It just turns out to be the best truck on the market too.
