vinson vs kodiak 450
i dont have experiance with either bike, but from experiance with most yamahas quads, and what people that tell me the kodiak is great for lots of stuff from working to playing, it has a higher center of gravity then the vinson, but i think that is because of the higher ground clearence that the kodiak has. for more speed and handling the vinson wins my vote but if i was gonna ride through mud i would probably pick the kodiak. Auto tranny (i think they both come with auto but you can get manual on the vinson) is nice to have but gears are always fun to play with... go out and ask your dealership if they will let you ride one and if they say no then go somewhere else.. so it basically comes down to how do you ride and where will you be riding?

vinson vs kodiak 450
One thing that I have "heard" about on the Vinson is that the front plastic is weak and breaks easy.(I have never ridden one) If you buy a aftermarket bumber for it then, this problem is fixed. With that said the kodiak 450 has some problems too.( I own One) The plastic on the footrest needs trimming on the outside edge because it doesnt take much to break it. If you get the Kodiak 450, the handle bars get some play after awhile in them. All it needs is a castle nut and a proper cotterpin on bottom of the steering column. These problems are both an easy fix.
Good luck with your choice and happy trails

I've got a Kodiak 450 and love it. The 4wd system is great, but like most stock bikes, the tires suck. I'm upgrading to 26" ITP 589s. The Kodiak 450 is a great quad for playing around on and for using as a work quad. You can't go wrong w/ the Kodiak. BTW - what are your intentions for the quad?
