Default Tire Chains ??

I just bought a set of tire chains for my 04 Kodiak 400 4x4 for ice fishing and am looking at getting a set for the front tires too. Does anyone know if you can run them on all 4 tires or just the rear? We pulled a lot of gear out on the ice last weekend and I ended up trying to pull it back up the ramp (was the only one with 4x4) and had a hell of a time because it was ice underneath. Had to have a friend push the rear of the trailer with her bike!! I hate being stuck!! Any info would be great, going out again on saturday, the dealer will have the chains for the front on friday. I don't want to buy them if I can't use them. Should I also buy the springs for tightning them or are they ok with out em? Thanks and have fun.

Default Tire Chains ??

Do a search (or look around) in the "drivetrain, suspension and tires" or the "Polaris" folder. I, as well as others, asked this same question a few weeks back and got some good input. My experience says rear only chains do excellent on snow covered ice. I use them while plowing. Used the rear only method while ice fishing and I slid around quite a bit still. Bear in mind these are merely truck tire chains modified to fit. I think your V-Bar chains might be the trick for bare ice.

Definitely throw some bungees on to ensure the chains stay snug, no matter how slow you're moving.
