Do they make a fairly fast utility atv?

I've got a kodiak 400 4x4 and have had it up to 45mph ice fishing on the ice and snow and i'm about 235pds. going riding on monday see if I can get it up a little faster on some trails. Not as expensive as some of the bigger bikes but hey I'm having fun!! good luck.

Maybe going down a BIG hill. All the other magazines test it right at about 45. The one I drove sure couldn't do it!
According to your signature you are a snowmobiler. You should KNOW that Rotax engines KICK BUTT! Shame on you! LOL. The April issue of Dirt Wheels did a shootout between the Bruin 350 and the Outlander 330 HO. They clocked the 330 HO at 50 plus. I would not be surprised to see the 400 HO do 60 mph. Bombardier, although they are the new kid on the block, builds some of the best ATV's in the biz. They have REVolutionized both the Snowmobile and PWC industries and are the market sales leader in both of these segments. I expect they will do the same with the ATV division. With Bombardier Recreational Products now it's own entity I would expect BIG things from them. Rumor has it that they're working on a 750cc V-Twin. I'll be the first in line.

You can't haul deer on a scrammy very easily and they sling mud all over the rider. Not something you want when you have your bow or gun with you.
The Prairie 700 could be your answer. They are cheaper than the Rincon and Griz and will leave them looking at your backside.

I'll race your Prairie with my Rinny. Been there done that with the Praire and Grizzly. I guarantee I won't be looking much at your backside. With equal ability riders, they are pretty dang close . I ride a Rincon, it is pretty quick and it is fast. It does take until about 250 to 300 miles until it really wakes up though.
The only disadvantage to a Rincon is no low gearing, which you really do need in slow technical situations. That's the only thing I don't like about it. Otherwise it rides like a Cadillac, you really can't beat the ride. Whether trail riding or riding the road, you really can't beat the ride the suspension gives you. It is the SUV of the Utilities.
Now I won't tell you the Rincon is the best and the others suck just because I have one. It comes down to what you want, what kind of riding you will do, and what kind of performance you want, etc. All of these quads are excellent quads, just have different features and some better then others in certain situations. I would strongly suggest trying to find a way to ride a couple of them that you are interested in. That way YOU can see which one will work best for what YOU want.
Good Luck

I like the rinny ride too... however don't race a Prairie... I have found the rinny are upthere but Rinny will not take a prairie. 90% of trail riding the rinny will keep up too. For most techinical trails the rinnie does require more work/adaptation but it will be able to run at a lot higher speeds. The rinny does need a low gear. I want someone around here to do a little work to a rinny because if you were able to wake it up a bit more it would be very nice; say that the rinny does have enough power/speed for 80-90% of riders. I do feel that the rinny is not a great utility bike but it would do, it's more designed for recreation is mine point of view because of the lack of low power.
