I am also curious about the Grizzly having a wet clutch. The only thing I can see on the Yamaha website talks about a centrificul clutch but who knows.

The back of the AMS oil bottle says all MFGs like rancherAT said. It also states that it does not contain friction modifiers and specifcally says it works in ATVs with wet clutches because of this.

Either clutch set up you are good to go with AMS Oil 0w40

I wish I new how the clutch works myself. My owners manual states that it is a wet clutch system lubricated by engine oil and that you cannot use any oil with friction modifiers and such. I have no clue how it works though.

Thunderbolt,

I just noticed your in North Branch, Fleet Farm has the AMS Oil on sale for $5.79 a quart. Like I said the back of the bottle says it doesn't have the modifiers so you should have no problems at all.

I was looking at one of those Arctic Cat "oil changing kits" the other day and I'm SURE the oil IN that kit was synthetic. I'm up for my first oil change and I'm going to try that out. Then I guess it's on to Amsoil.

xcrider, I have only 22 hours on the Grizz so should I wait until it is broke in more before using synthetic or is it good to go??

Thunderbolt,

My Polaris comes with Synthetic out of the box and a lot of productions cars as well. I think you should not have any problem switching right now and not have a worry. Yamaha builds good stuff and your breakin is over (the metal parts working in).
