If the vacuum was on the surface of earth, there would still be gravity. (9.8 m/s^2)
However, there would be no friction.
Both bikes would hit the ground @ the exact same time (provided they both plummeted off the cliff @ the same time).
And both would be trash..
Although I like the comment of them getting sucked up - that was funny

Hey, great forum - been reading for a couple of months and finally decided to join.
I think most on this topic are just having fun - nobody needs to take things too personal.
I rode my first quad at age 40 - a friend's Raptor 650? 660? at the Oregon dunes. Had a blast and almost hurt myself spilling it a couple of times. Was very sore the next day - his quad made it thru just fine. Didn't have the opportunity to ride one again for almost two years until a different friend bought himself and his wife a pair of Twin Peak 700's last May. After one ride I just HAD to get one myself. Only problem was they already had the only two colors so I got myself the red Praire. Might as well own the original anyways, right?

Been doing almost all trail and woods riding, hill climbing, water bar jumping. Took it to the dunes one time so far. Had lots of fun but not quite as much as on the Raptor (except this time I was much more experienced). note: riding in the dunes side trail berms at night is a total MUST DO --- what a rush !!!
My friend with the TP700 and I were up in the hills of beautiful southern Oregon yesterday and this huge tree had fallen in the path. He hooked up a rope and tried to pull it out of the way - it budged a little. So I hooked up another rope to my P700 ---- we scooted that heavy hunk of timber right out of the way. Can't wait to see what we can move if his wife's quad is added and we have 2091 cc's of pulling power!
My point (I'm getting to it!) is that just being on 4 wheels is what it is all about. I wouldn't trade my P700 for a sport quad but I'm sure there are others that feel the opposite way. I'll add my support to those who said it is easier to haul beer on a ute. Again, thanks for having this great forum and all the combined knowledge out there.

I totally agree with bigredmean... I think both types of machines have there strong points, but i'm still a die hard ute guy. My grizz will do 65, fast enough to break something, yet i can plow, mud, and pull with it yearround. I realize cali is a bit warmer all year, but you bring that raptor up hear in a few feet of snow and see how far you get.
that's my $.02 worth, great topic

i have both a sport quad and a utility quad and kawasakirules is right the only thing i use a 4x4 is for ultility and jaybeecon55 is right for the mud. and my sport quad does get stuck in the mud but thats why i got my dad right next to me to pull me out. thats why we bought both

There are reasons for race quads and utes. I had a 2k3 raptor 660 and i love going fast. I sold it and got a Bruin 350 4x4. I wish I had the race quad still, but i need the utility quad for towing and which for some reason is fun, plowing. race quads are GREAT but they only jump, go fast, and ride wheelies. Unless you race, theres no other purpose for it. My brothers Brute force 750 4x4 has better suspension than my raptor had, more than double the ground clearance, and the ability to jump 8 feet high onto flat ground multiple times and show no signs of damage like my raptor would. It can do more than 60 mph, can ride really nice wheelies, and can jump off of jumps and 2 foot thick logs. It can tow 1200 pounds, plow, beat my raptor in races, jump anything my raptor could, ride wheelies as far as i can, haul stuff on the racks, ride through 4 feet of water without bogging and come out running perfect, etc. Race quads only serve 2 purposes: racing and riding. There are so many more purposes for utes. There is no comparison.
P.S. My brother's brute force has 12.3 horsepower more than the raptor 660 and a lot more torque and only weighs 200 lbs more.
