Utility quads are so not cool!!

Whitewater, don't be a d!ck. We don't have a fight club on this forum for a reason. If you want to make stupid comments on things you have no idea what you're talking about, go to another forum.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...I'm not here to fight. Cool down the jets a little - I'm not bagging on the Prairie. It looks like a good machine. I just have a hard time believing that a prairie can go that fast. Was it clocked by a radar? And yes, I could be wrong. Gees, sorry to get your panties all bunched up.

While it doesnt keep up with the family raptors, the prarie 700 does hit 60-65 mph bone stock out of the showroom. One of the members on here had a prarie up to 98 mph before he hit a patch of ice and all hell broke loose.
This post is hooey. Yes, I actually used the word hooey. Lots of sport riders go into mud, trials, rocks, water, and more and have a helluva time. Lots of ute riders can have fun at the drag strip, on flattrails, dunes, and other places typically reserved for sport quads. If any of you are so ignorant that you cant have fun and allow others to, then you need to pull your head out of your but.
There are obviously extreme cases like when a guy on a 500lb 250cc utility quad is trying to climb dunes or drag race and is consistantly failing at the task. Same goes for some guy who hits a mud hole on his sport and has to be continually pulled out. But as long as the rider has a shot at making it, leave them alone. The most fun on a quad that you can have is accomplishing something that you werent sure you could.

Like others have said, isn't half of the fun making the quad do something it shouldn't be able to do? Like a ute blasting up a sand dune, just barely making to the top at like 1 mph...but making it! Or some little 250cc sport hitting a stream at 40 mph, getting swallowed by mud, but making it out the other side at like 1mph. That's funny and can become the kind of thing you talk about for years!
This thread is stupid. Both ATVs have good points but are made for different functions. You don't have people debating whether a Nissan 350Z or Ford F350 is a better motor vehicle. They have their unique functions. The 350Z can't carry a ton of rock or tow 5 ATVs, just like the F350 can't take an off-ramp at 70MPH or hit 60MPH in less than 10 seconds. Now you have people screaming back and forth whether Ford, Chevy, or Dodge makes a better truck, but that's the same argument as to whether a Grizzly, Prairie, or Sportsman is a better ATV. They are all in the same class. (See the "King of the Utilties" thread.)
I've always liked these forums because the people here kept the discussion on a "higher" level than some of the other forums out there in webland. I vote we drop this discussion as there is no answer but "like what you like and I'll like what I like."

"Ride what you like" ! I have sport and ute. Sport is great for playing , but ute is great for everything . I can take any dune on my Eiger @ Pismo or Glamis. Ute as far as power, it pulls, it has torque, and I don';t think I want to any faster than 55mph.
FINAL NOTE: My Utility carries a Sh*tload more beer.

OK, up until now I didn't think I had any use for a utility but after you mentioned the superior beer carrying capability....it's looking a lot better.
