Wanting the Grizz to start while in gear...
#1
Does anyone know how to cancle out the safety feature on the Yamaha Grizzly 660 so I can start it and not have to put it in park first?
I would much rather have the safty on the brake so you hold in the brake and it will start. On the Grizzly however you have to put the thing in park first, then applying the rear brake to shift to drive is a bit of a pain. While I'm messing around with my shifter the other quads have already dusted up the trail I wanna find the wire and cut it so it will start no matter which gear im in, maybe I can hook it up to my brake light and make people pull in the brakes to start it giving it some safety there.
Anyone done this yet?

It won't work on the 05 models, I have to have it in Park before it will start then I have to step on the rear brake in order to move it out of, or into park or reverse.
It's a minor inconvience but worthy of the time to find and clip a wire or something. Im finally getting into the habit of putting it into park each and everytime I stop and shut it down. I would much preferr to just punch the green button and go though.
