Default Grizz using oil

I have an 04 Grizz with 45 hours on it. At 25 hours I changed the oil and filled it with 0w-40 Amsoil. The machine doesn't smoke or anything, When I checked the oil it was about 3 ozs low. I was told by one dealer this is normal with synthetic while another dealer said I shouldn't be running synthetic yet. Anyone elses Grizz use any oil ?? Is it normal to use a little and should I change back to Yama-Lube ??
I do ride it kinda hard.

When you change the oil you should run it and check it again because you need to fill the oil filter etc...

Mine uses oil BUT only when I'm on a long open road full throttle. So, if you've been doing that look in your air box for oil. What happens is the crank case vent hose is attached to the air box, when held wide open for a extended time the Grizzly will "suck" oil up through the hose.
