Default Tire question

I've been thinking about replacing my 25's w/ some +1 Mud lites. I there any ~real~ advantage, or should I stick w/ the 25's(mud lites)?

25" and under mud-lites have 7/8 inch tread lugs while the 26" and over have 1 1/16" lugs. Your choice. Both work well.

Hi. If you mostly ride in mud and swampy wet stuff go for the 26" but if you ride a lot of logging roads , trails and woodlands with the some mudding here and there the 25" might be better suited

I put a set of 26" mudlites on my rancher and it was the best thing I had ever done to any utilty atv ever. I would stick with the 25" if you are going to be doing mostly trails though.

The 25's are a very good trail tire and I ran them for a year before going to the 26's and I have found that the 26's are even better as a trail tire. One suggestion I would have if you are mostly a trail rider is getting the 9" wide front tire instead of the 10" tire. The 26" Lites only measure up to 25 3/8" with 5psi in them.

If you are changing from a stock tire you will notice some loss of power at acceleration with the larger tires. We put 25" BigHorn radials on my brothers Eiger auto and noticed a difference on the low end but not enough to bother him. The 26" Lites will measure up to 25 3/8in with 5psi in them so they are the same height as the BigHorns and weigh about the same. If you install the larger tire you will probably want to install a clutch kit in the future and then you will regain your lost low end, but it is rideable without the clutch kit and you will find yourself using low range more.

We went riding today, and you know what? My 25 Mud Lites did fine. I guess I'll probably wait 'til they completely wear out then get some 26's- and clutch kit, and a slip on, and a bore kit, and..................
