Default 4x4 tire upgrade

I have an old '97 Honda foreman 4x4. i probibley sound like a begginer asking this, but my ol 4x4 needs new tires. Cause it is a 4x4, do i have to stay with the same tire size, or can i go with someting different. right now, it has 23 in the front and 24 in the back. If i put different sizes on, will the tires spin at different speeds and/or hurt the transfer case??? Thank you

PS I ride mud, thus im getting new tires, and what should i go with tire wise???

i was wondering the exact same thing...but it doesnt matter for me..i decided on the ITP 589's 25 inch front and back...the foreman's are the 400's right?...23 and 24 sounds small...alot of people like the mudlights...but if you want the larger lug you would have to go to the 26 inch tires...theres lots of choices out there...if people dont reply to this u can always search...

Hi . I am pretty sure that if it came stock with 23's up front and the 24's in the back...then you have to keep that same ratio. So you could go to 24's up front and 25's in the rear and so on. If you were to go with the same size all around it could screw up the diffs. I have read this somewhere on these forums before.

tThe ratio in the front and rear differentials is different, that is why you have 23's in the front and 24's in the back. When you change tire sizes, you need to keep those ratios the same. Your Honda dealer should be able to tell you what size tires you can go up to.

some have a diff in the transfer case, so thats why i was wondering. and 23:24 is not the same as 24:25, so that could hurt. ill give ol' Freds Honda a call. I tried to find out about this on this forum, but couldn't find it.

i would keep the tires sizes the same as stock or if anything go up only 1 size but if you go up keep the ratios even like your stock tires are if you go too big youll lose too much low end power.and low end is what your gonna need in the mud.
