Grizz? Not a chance. The Kodiak is by far a better machine. Yamaha messed up somewhere. By the way have you ever rode anything else?

I'v rode both and obviously think the sp700 fits my needs better. You seem to be doing the same thing I'm doing. Keep in mind the standard racks on the sportsman compared to the grizz, the sportsman has a lot of room to put hunting gear and store other things. Polaris has a crazy amout of accessories for hunting, fishing, camping, etc. I hate to sound like a cliche (sp), but I think your best bet would be to go test ride both. I think the grizz is a little cheaper which you could use the money to upgrade the racks or get a storeage box or something. I'm just stating my personal experience and did not particularly care for the way the grizz rode, I'm not bashing it I have always liked yamaha but I REALLY like my 700efi.

The griz can be easily tuned to not be tippy. I think that the Kodiak is great, but I don't think that your criticism of the griz is valid. With the stock tires it is tippy, but with itp c- series wheels and dirt devil tires, I can slide my griz sideways. I have rode a 500 polaris and thought is was a good machine. It really didn't feel any more stabile than my griz. I even rode my friends rubicon and it didn't feel any more stabile. The polaris 700 is alot heavier than the griz and I would not own one for that reason.

okay...it is kind of funny how people love/like or should I say don't dislike the 500ho sportsman as much as the 700. I would really like to know why...weight? only 40 pounds difference in the 2 quads. They are exactly the same height, wheelbase, and width. Same ground clearance. I look at mine everyday side by side I could change the plastic body and they would still look the same. The only difference I have found so far...(other than the engine) is the 700 has a bigger battery. I think personally that the extra 40 pounds (which is not mounted high) is definately overcome by the extra power. I don't find my 700 to be more "tippy" than my 500.

Most of the people I ride with either have the 500HO or the bigger 700 sportsman. These quads are good but I don't think they are any better than any of the other machines out there in those classes. I can tell you the two reasons I don't like them:

1. Both the 500 and 700s are way to heavy

2. Gear shift is a pain (Polaris don't mind them because they are use to it but if you try others you will see)

I spent 3 years trying to decide and finally since the Polarise is 1/2 a ton and the Grizzly's issues have ALL been addressed and fixed including the speed limiter, heating and floorboards, it was an easy choice. Grizzly HANDS DOWN so I took the plunge and am excited with my choice.

Congratulations, I think that you will be pleased. I was happy, but then I started tinkering and now it blows my mind. It is a monster waiting to get out. Have fun.

I can already tell I want more power. I would like to be able to just power up the front at will.
