I've heard the kodiak is pretty nice. The best thing to do is go try one out and see for yourself.

not sure about kodiak but I have a polaris and they ride very nice and have great features for the money. some people say they are to heavy but the power/torque makes up for that. just a suggestion but if your going to go with polaris I would get at least a 500H.O., or if your going with an 04 model my local dealer is selling the 04 500's for $5995 OTD and the 600's for $6100 OTD and the 700's for $5454 OTD. the power difference between the 400 and 500 is definetly worth the small amount extra and if your going to go with the 500, the 600 is only a hundred dollars more and your getting a twin. just a thought.

The polaris is a poorly built machine and always will be. They are cheaper for a reason. Get the Yamaha if you want a quality unit. The only downside is they like brake pads.

They were, yes. I would never buy a polaris prior to 2001 models. That said, they have improved greatly and arent really any better or worse overall than any other model in thier corresponding class.
