Plows, which to get?
#33
I do not have experience iwth other ATV plows but I have a 60" Moose plow with the small electric winch to raise and lower it. After using it for the dirst time tody I could not be happier. I think that the weight is just right and the two plowing trips around the neighborhood I made today showed it to work fine in both light powder and the heavy wet stuff. Tripped the plow once and it functioned flawlessly.
My son follows int he Rancher with shovels and he angles the plow for me as needed. He's a great kid; that's why he got a new Rancher!

On a separate note, does anyone know anything about a drag box type plow that would go behind the ATV for those places where you would othersie have to back-blade?

I have a 2001 wolverine and I want to get a 48" warn snow plow and a mounting kit.. I have a 1500 super winch on it. What else do I need to make the whinch pull up the plow and where do i hook the whinch on to.?

they show you that in the instructions..Usually take off your hook and I use a pin through a bracket and its hooked! (And mine is a Warn) pretty quick way to do it, incase I want to hit the trails and through my hook back on...just 3 pins and the plow is off and Im ready for the trail

are there specific instructions? because im not to sure about what you mean by taking off the hook and putting pins through the bracket. Do you mean the bracket of the whinch? IM CONFUSED! LOL

There is usually a hook on the end of your winch cable that can be removed by a clevis pin. Take the hook off, and then use a shackle to attach the loop in the end of the cable to a point on the plow. If you use the hook, it willl come off if you are not careful.

How do you post a pic to this forum??
Another hint for happy plowing is to carry a papir of cable clamps, small Ubolts, that fit inot a small saddle for holding cable. Then if you should break your cable, you just make a loop, put on the two clamps, and you are off plowing again. I keep a special cable for plowing that has been broken several times. I change them out when the plowing season in over. Becareful when playing with the cable, it really will get sharp little splinters taht will cut the hell out of your hands. Gloves are very important!!!
