polaris 400 sportsman 2001 atv vehicle in high gear but speed does not increase over 20mph . this cause drive belt to get extreamly hot until it burn off. The vehicle has good engine power ,transmision place in high gear but does not automatically upshift to full speed or at least half speed.

 

Most likely the problem is in the secondary (rear) clutch, I"ve seen broken button screws cause this....
