We should cut oledad some slack. Obviously age has adled his brain a bit and he is confused in his postings. We all share our opinions and unless it's a personal attack, all's fair in love and forum posting.

As for stability. I would hope that a tank would be more stable than a more nimble SUV. Just think of the gravity advantage that extra 150 pounds give the Polaris. If you weighted down the others that away, they should climb horizontally across a cliff! I will grant you that some weight is due to improved parts (better skid plate, more robust floor boards, stout racks) but much of the weight is not improving the performance of the machine, just weighing it down. One would have to add a huge number of extras to the BF or KQ to get them to a comparable weight. You could add a winch, aluminum skid plates/a-arm protectors, a rack box and more and still not reach the dry weight of the Polaris.

As for reliability, all of today's machines are fairly reliable (though Suzuki and Honda tend to be the best there -- IMO). Bottomline, get what you want and ride the devil out of it. The best way to enjoy your investment is more seat time on the trail. There is no performance difference between the biggest and the smallest machines when they are parked in the back yard and not being used.

Everything everyone posts is their opinion....thats all it can be....

If you don't mind the weight, which you shouldn't because it is a pure utility vehicle on the Polaris....

As far as vehicles out there, just ride them, see which you like the best....my favorite is the Polaris, it handles awesome for the weight and gets the job done....I would go with the BF if they fixed the suspension, but since its not right now and you want to ride fast, its not the machine to have....

many other choices though like the prairie, king quad, etc that are all great machines....all comes down to preference....

In fairness to the BF and its handleing issues. All it takes to cure 90% of the problem is a nice set of cast rimms and radial tires like the polaris comes with. Also in fairness for the price difference in the 2 quads this is a feasable solution if they like the BF better.

I would have bought the brute. Yet I waited until all the quads came out and after looking at all 3 I found the 800 to be built the best. The weight is something I could care a less about I am not going to put it on my back and carry it. I feels lighter in the handle bars than the older lighter models the fact that you can not peg the trottle without the wheels comming up tells me it does not it is heavy and I won't tell it

Thats exactly what I noticed, It does feal alot lighter than my old sportman 500 the steering effort is much lighter than the old ones and the ride is alot smoother than the SP700's when they 1st came out. I just don't notice the weight of it unless I am trying to shift it around on the trailer.

lol...i notice that when i'm trying to move the Polaris around on the trailer or in the garage....the rear bumper helps out a bunch because the machine is so tall that its hard to get hold of something lower...

I had not thought about that, I did order the stainless front and the black rear, they just have not come in.

Rebel912,

What kind of riding is your Dad don't to do?

All,

I've heard everyone say the 800 Sportsman is the best but all I can say is that for $ 1,400 more than the KQ it better be!!!

[Don't go blowing your pie trap and say your is the best. There is no such thing as "THE BADDEST OR BEST" Your opinion is just that...yours.....very subjective. The bottom line is all of these are very good quads. It is people like you who blow their pie hoe to the point others don't like certain quads. STOP THE CRAP
. If you had bothered to READ with understanding, you would have READ that these were MY opinions based on my research, and purchase and riding the product. And I also stated that others may find they upon testing all 3 , might find one of the others fits there needs better. To use your words; Its people like you, who make it where others don't want to post their OPINIONS, For others to gather useful information from actual owners, of variuous brands with your personal attacks . Otherwise they can only rely on product information from the maker which is very baised, as said buy whatever you like best, I did.

i would go with the grizz..its a quad quad and you are actually riding it unlike the bruteforce which rides you...to much power in the bf...it would be a tough choice but i would defently go with the griz again if i had to choose all over again...if not the griz go with the nice FI KQ...thats a very nice quad to....
