Yesterday and last night was the first time I have been to a ATV only riding area. I paid to get in and it had somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 miles of crossing swamps, rutted out mud trails, rivers, etc on the San Jacinto River. Runnin in that swamp at night was crazy and was hard to tell where you were. There was atleast 75 quads running.

I now have much respect for Polaris and there 4X4 system. I now am looking into what someone said I need called a detroit locker so I can have all 4 wheels turning. I had swamped my bigbear twice trying to cross water. I was lucky not to get any in the crank case. It sucked water into the airbox and stalled. I jumped off it floated and I pulled it to swallow to get running again. I going to really need a decent snorkle system.

I have been humbled my bigbear was one of the smallest quads out there. LOL But one of the best times I had in a long time!

I gotta get a pipe, k&n/rejet, detroit locker, snorkle and lift springs

 

id be interested in a detroit locker if someone has a link for a quad...

 

spyder6, what exactly would you put the locker in? polaris alredy has true 4x4????? do you have a nother quad besides the 500ho and 800EFI?

 

yeah i would like to have the locker in mine myself but i have already poured money into my quad like its the only thing that i own so I am going to give it a rest for a little while and just cruise in 3-wheel drive, Usually iI get stuck coming up out of a rut where a locker would really do me no good because the tires are not touching the ground in the first place [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]
