Can anyone tell me why so many people buy big utlity machines and jump them like a sport quad? I can understand the ocassional obstical, but to take flight on a 600+ pound machine seems like you folks got the wrong machine. Lets hear from you folks out there. I'm a utiltity guy but do go trail riding. The only time I get any air is when three tires are on terra firma and the obstacle in question allows one tire to go skyward.
I agree with you, if you are jumping, you should get a sport bike. Besides, if I were to do any high speed jumps, the tools, beer and other essentials might fly out of my wire-tie mounted milk crates.

Because today's 4x's lean more towards Sport quads, and that's the reason most folks buy 'em. We ( me and my Prairie 650 bud) rode w/ the sport quads in WV and hung w/ them-easily. Plus, we came in handy pulling them out of the slop! Face the facts-these ain't our fathers' 4x4s!

I jump mine because they cut so many errosion control mounds into the hills, and sometimes you cant see them until your right on it doing 45MPH, then you go airborne whether you like it or not. Thats the fun part, landing the 600 pound beast is what stinks. I have the dent on my skid plate to prove it.
However im sure we 4x4 ute guys wonder what the guy on the 300ex who is burried in the mudd over his seat was thinking too.........
Short answer: having fun with what ya got!
