Chains on tires
#1
I have an 01 Wolverine, I am going to be plowing snow. My stock tires are pretty warn down. Not the best for plowing snow. I am wondering where I can find chains for my tires. I am going to buy some 25" mudlites for just riding. I dont want to mess them up in the winter so I am putting chains on my tires. Where can I get some?

When I was looking for chains I found several sites on the web that offered them. Didn't save the sites however. I know Cabela's offers them for around $50.00 per set which was ballpark for others I found.
I found the best price was to buy a set of car chains of the right width and cut them to length. I bought the longest set I could get and ended up with several spare cross links. I also put cross links on every other side link rather than every fourth link as they come from the factory. I prefer the "V" bar ice chains.

I haven't used the chains much, maybe a couple of hours total, and that was with just the rear ones on. Mud snow/ice mix. My son and daughter used the quad to move snow and ice during a recent storm and used chains on all four. They agree that the rear chains are the most help.
I think I would put some on the rear and give it a try. You can always get some for the front if you feel you need them.
