1999 honda foreman 450ES
Hello group,
I am considering purchasing a used foreman ES. The unit appears as new, has 977 miles and 145 hours, has a winch and a benz silencer and other accessories. The asking price is $2800.00.
I am a honda man and have owned a 1999 honda 300 4x4 in the past.
It will be used in south Texas for a hunting atv.
What are the pros and cons of this four wheeler?
Is the ES reliable?
Is this a reasonable price?
Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a good find to me.
Drive it and see how well it shifts. Most are very troublefree, like most hondas, if the maintance was done. The es system is somewhat sensitive to battery voltage on the older es models. The newer ones will shift , once the motor is running, wether the battery is good or not.
Its full time 4wd, unless you add a warn 424.
They ride like an unloaded 3/4 ton truck , but for doing chores and hard work, they are real good.
Ask the owner what problems hes had, I doubt he had any. If it seems to run and shift fine, it should be good.

We just bought a 1999 Honda Foreman es 450, for $2,990.00 it is USED, but the other owner only had 500 miles on it and it still looks NEW...
There was NO QUESTION in my mind about Honda Quality, eventhough I had not been on a Quad since 1994, my last Quad was a Honda FourTrax 300 and it would haul my Fat Ars everywhere that I wanted to go...
So I figured The 1999 Forman would too, the hairs ae still on the tires and the Honda was stored in a Warehouse, so it is in perfect condition...
I persay don't care to have the newest neetest thing, I started riding Dirt Bikes back in 1969 and I road a Yamadog, it did what I wanted it to, so I was Happy...
I am 55 and my friend is 65, the Quad is used for nursery work and it will be just another tool, however I do feel that This Be One BAD *** TOOL...
Yes we may be Old Farts, but you can say what you like about all the other Quad Manufacturers, HONDA has always been The Best...
