gear option

since the 2005 kodiak 400 does not have an option for high or low range and were i ride low is really nice to have (well so my buddies tell me). Is there a way i could change gears abit to have a lower range.

You could go to smaller diameter tires...but that would hurt ground clearance.
You could also try the weight and spring kits, for the clutching, which raises the rpms and keeps the motor in the power band better. But this is a known issue with the yamis with no low range...theyre a bit over geared, and at low speeds, they have a hard time spinning the tires, especially if the tires are mired in mud.

Ahh low is over rated. I tryed low in the technical trails I ride and its just to damn low most of the time. I ended up just going back to high becausew hen I want the speed its nice to have and going down hills in low is just to damn slow. The engine braking in high is just dandy I think. Your really not missing much by not having low. Just enjoy your ride the way it is.
