MUD LITES VS. 589'S???
#11
I have the 26" Mudlite XTRs on my Outlander 800. The handle very well and handle about any terrain you throw at them. The 26" XTRs are actually a lot bigger than the 26" stock Carlisle’s. Great tires overall.

I have both and the mudlites ride better on hard pack, but the 589's are better in mud when backing up.

ok i was thinking bout this mud lites vs 589's thing and i came to the conclusion. if you like to do finessing around mud i would go with the mud lite's they don't have as aggressive tread pattern and they won't spin you down as fast. if you are a kamakazee rider and hold it ***** to the walls through the mud and have the power go with the 589's they clean very very well and if you keep the power up will go through alot. but if you try finessing with the 589's you slip one tire a quarter of a turn you will go down 8 inches, there is so much cleaning area it just augers down. so it depends on what kind of riding style you do.

I Have a 330 ATP with itp mudlite XL tires. These XL tires actualy weigh 1.2 pounds less than my factory Carlisle 489 tires.I even went from a 24 inch to a 25 inch and they are 1.2 pounds lighter each. There great in the snow, mud, trails, streams, and even rock crawling.. Just make sure you get the XL (they have a tread depth of 1 1/8 inch depth). the AT (is only 3/4 inch depth) I have also been hearing alot about the new Super Grip Super Light mud tire. They both say that they are the lightest 6 ply tire on the market. It has the exact same tread as the ITP Mud Lights.
