Default Plowing for the first time tonight...

Plowing is allot more fun than shoveling. I was expecting a slightly cleaner driveway though.

I wonder if I need more weight on the blade???

Anyone have ideas??

On the bottom of the blade and toward both ends, are 2 skids (kinda like a 3" cup witn a shaft welded to the center of it). These skids are adjustable, and determine the height that the wear bar is from the ground (when the blade is fully lowered). The wear bar should be about 1/8" above the ground.

If this adjustment is too great, you have more snow left on your driveway.

Added weight is helpful when the snow is quite wet, or extremely well packed.

And try to avoid drivving over the snow with anything, skidoo, bike, car or truck, when its compacted its real hard to scrape up with an ATV blade as their inherantly light.

I stopped using the skids on my plow. They just wear out too quickly. I'd rather just replace the wear blade ever once in a while than replace two skids AND a wear blade.

i also plowed for the first time today.... and had a blast in the 10 inches of snow too! anyways, back to the point..... i adjusted the skids up all the way and had no problems.... my driveways was perfect. when i was done there was still sum snow on it that i couldnt scrape off.... but then it all melted and left the driveway perfect with no snow or ice. the snow was great for plowing kuz it was really soft and light too, so that was a plus. first time plowing and riding in snow for a whole day= tons of fun!

Same here, was my first time plowing my 475' driveway. Had so much fun doing it that I also did my sisters (lives next door) 500' driveway. Also rode in the snow with my BF650 for the first time. Nothing seems to stop that thing.

I've already had to plow my driveway 4 times this year due to a early season 8 inch snowfall, the snow keeps drifting back over..but I'm not complaining it's fun plowing, ecspecially with my King Quad 700 coming from a Polaris 400 which wasn't fun plowing with!!
