This was my first winter with a quad.....man is it fun flying through the snow. I dunno about you guys up in MI, but here in Ohio the last snowfall was extremely wet. I hit a small drift and my quad lurched to a stop and the winch wouldnt even pull it out. I had to dig under it to get her to move.

I think you need a bigger winch. I can pick mine right off the ground.

Well, up here in da Upper Pennisula heh, we usually get pretty good snow, but it sounds like you guys toward the east had plenty to play with. Last week we had around 6-7" of the wet sticky stuff; kept sticking to the blade. Right now it is about 4 deg. with -20 windchill in the forecast! I have been learning alot from this forum and I decided although, the manual lift was working plenty well on my 60" cycle country blade, I put a Venom winch on this weekend to lift. I must admit, the quality was pretty impressive, the mount is laser cut and powder coated nice, the unit looks and sounds like the expensive ones. The only thing I found to be a problem was the cables that lead from the winch motor to the solenoid connector ran about 6" too short for my 05 Rubicon, with the connector mounted on the right side of the storage box. I ended up cutting the battery leads in half and addeing to the motor leads. Other than that, I will see how this thing holds up with the plow this winter.
