I am replacing a gear in my Moose winch. Does anyone know what kind of grease I use to pack the gearing befor I close it up?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

 

Warn recommends using Aeroshell Grease 17 for the 2.5 I have. I went ahead and sprung for the $17.00 it cost me for a tube of the recommended grease because their literature stated Grease 17 is designed for internal parts exposed to high shear loads . . . I thought "that sounds like a winch to me!"

That tube will probably last me about two decades worth of winch re-lubing if I relube every two to three years like I did this time.
