I ride the Paiute trails in Utah often and have found the need to carry extra gas a necessity. While you are filling up, take the white tube out of the gas tank. It will allow you to get almost another gallon into your quad. I can get close to 80 miles on easy trails, but that's not far on the Paiute trail if you want to bypass a town. I use the flat tanks that strap to my racks.
We will be up there again in the middle of July cruising the trails.

Thanks for the reply curis. I am not sure what you mean by the white tube in the gas tank? I just picked up the Brute tonight. Snow camo with OEM black wheels. It sure handles different than my 03 Grizzly. Will take it out this weekend for first good ride.
Thanks UTEATV

Take your gas cap off and you will see a white tube extending down into your gas tank about 6 inches, it is removable. It keeps the gas from being overfilled and splashing out. As long as you are on a good trail it really serves no purpose other then to rob you of precious fuel space.
I also have a Griz and the Brute is a beast and handles completely different, but in a good way. My wife now rides the Grizz and would not trade it. I have added the C-series rims, radial tires, jet kit and copperhead VDI. With these mods the Brute is a lot different than stock. I highly recommend the Copperhead and the jet kit.

UTEATV: If you do decide to carry extra gas with you take a look in the Cabela's catalog or online store. They sell a unit that bolts to the rear rack and will hold a fuel can or cooler. I have both on my quad and get along fine with them. They add some weight to the rear but for the type of cruising you are talking about would give you no problems. I have a large rear rack box full of stuff plus these two carriers on my P360 and have no problems at all.
