brute 750i?

Rode one back when I was in the market. Whether that's enough riding time or not, is your call, sir. Seriously though, what do people talk about the Brute having an advantage over other machines besides it's engine?

not better necessairly, but it has it's good points. very robust deivetrain. very long list of aftermarket goodies. can handle pretty deep water if careful (won't do too well if you go fast into water). the front diff lock is "the best feature available on any atv" according to dirtrider mag (for whatever they know, but it is a dandy little item. no need to even slow down or take your hands from the bars). excellent brakes, the torque from the twin pulls hard right above stall, and so on.. it also has its bad points that some may not like-just like the others.
IMO all of the big bores are in the same boat. they all have their good points and bad. the expensive ones have more good points, but also IMO, a good rider on any of these can whup a mediocre rider on any other in most contests except a pure power contest. so the differences are not great. so i don't really have a lot of patience with the multi page threads where everyone praises what they own and bash everyone else's. it's one thing to bring up the good points of what you are familair with but when you start the negative posts about what you are not familiar with, you are just wasting bandwidth.
minky has an 02 P650, a classic big bore (the first v-twin) so he doesn't need to hear the brute has power. if you think that's all it has, that is fine, but you arn't helping him at all.

Yes...All big bores have their good points and bad points...but since minky asked how the BF 750 stands up against the rest of the big bores, I'd have to agree with RedGoblin, it's mainly all power. Just compare the BF 750 to the KQ 700... The BF 750's only real advantage is power, you'd have to try pretty hard to find another advantage the BF has over the KQ. I say this b/c I've read of several guys on numerous forums changing from the 750 to the KQ due to it's poor handling, suspension and uncomfortable ride. I remember one guy said he traded his BF 750 for the KQ after he rode the KQ, he said the KQ's ride/suspenison/handling were all better than the BF 750 even with $1500 aftermarket shocks on it. Also it doesn't have EFI, the only big bore left with EFI. Also the KQ has as good if not better 4wd diff lock setup. I'm not saying it isn't a good ATV though, it's got a sick motor and makes a good mudder... just stating the facts of how it compares to the others b/c that's what he asked.

well, the redgoblin rode one around the dealer parking lot. how about you toyeboy? you ever ride one? i ride with a guy that has a KQ. we have been to Moab and many trails about as difficult here. the KQ has no advantage over the 650i. the 750 is pretty much the same. i can go everywhere he goes, he goes everywhere i go, and i can go faster in all conditions.
now i'll be the first to say the speed is not a big deal to me. sometimes he leads, and sometimes i lead. but if the KQ had any advantage over the brute i'd have seen it. but there is none. we both make the same obstacales with the same amount of effort, and if one of us needs assistance, the other one of us will. we have ridden hundreds of miles togather. it is always the same.
EFI means nothing to me. there is nothing it can do for me that carbs can't. my brute runs fine at over 10,000 feet elevation. there will come a day when EFI will outperform carbs, but you can see the brute is no slouch.
so maybe you guys could tell me how the Brute is not as good? i'm not seeing it.

I looked over the brute force, outlander and grizzly very closely when i wanted a big bore. I really like the grizzly of mine, but the BF isn't too far behind. A guy in our ride group has one. I'm like to trade a lot!
