It's not a matter of being defensive but putting accurate INFO. out there. I'm not here bashing any brand.

hey raidermike, your quad looks pretty sweet with the outfit you got on it, now you should look at my pics, and picture those tires on your quad. That would take it to the next level

Bomb's are too ugly for me>>>>>>

At first I agreed, thought they looked like moon rovers. Take a look at my pix...I kinda made mine a bit unique to me.

I just bought this weekend an 06 polaris 500 carb. I know its not the biggest and most powerful but I put some time on it and love it. I don't think I'd want anymore power. It didn't come with ebs but I'm use to a scambler anyway so that doesn't bother me. I've got front and rear ebs clutches new in the boxes but I love the take off. It will bring the front end nearly straight up with no problem. I may grab an 800 clutch and use it since that clutch won't give a loss on the bottom end but sometimes the ebs just almost gets in the way.(for my style of riding anyway. Yes, there are times when I wish I had it) I can just keep the throttle up just a little and the belt will stay engaged and hold back enough anyway. I've put several hours on all the new big bore and like was mentioned in other replys, they all have weak points and strong points. I am impressed at how Polaris now teaches a class to all the dealer sales people on the good and bad points of all brands. They have every brand for the dealers to ride and let them decide what they like and don't like on each machine. The hope is to educate the dealers on each brand so they won't fill a potential buyer's head full of lies just to get them to buy polaris. But at the same time give them good amo on the points where polaris shines at. I can bet that there isn't one person who has not had a sales person for any brand to lie between ther teeth about something just to get you to buy. I can't stand it. I had a guy tell me once that a Rubicon 500 would out pull a sportsman 500. The next week we had a sled pull at the county fair grounds and watched him get out pulled by a polaris magnum 325 stock!!!!! I ask him later why he told me that. He gave me a smart comment and walked off. All yeah, And a sportsman 450 is just as fast as a BF 750.(Different person) He failed to mention it was in the first 5 feet out the hole. Everybody hear can guess the rest of the story.

The Sportsman 500's are very good ATV's that's for sure, very comfortable and exellent at plowing and towing...the 500 is Polaris' most reliable Sportsman b/c it uses the Fuji 500cc motor and it's proven, and they last a long time. I had an 04 400 and it used the 425cc Fuji and I put 2300 miles on that motor and it still ran very strong when I sold it...in fact it was the most reliable part of the ATV.

I know what you mean about people lieing about their ATV's...this is why I chose to educate myself about nearly every model out there, I pretty much know what beats what in a drag and the pros and cons of every big bore and I wouldn't lie about it b/c what good does that do??

I heard this one the other day and I had to lol -"I bought an Outty 800 and it doesn't go 100 mph what's the deal??"

Good that you got a Sportsman 500... no offense to the sportsman 400, but my friend has 1, and it seems gutless tryin to turn those tires. It dont seem like the tire speed is all there.

Yes that's the thing I didn't like about the Sportsman 400 it felt really underpowered, to this day I still wish I had gotten at least the 500 high output, I've heard it's much more powerful than the 400...but this time I made sure I had enough power and went with a 700.
