Default warn winch problem

I thought my winch might be full of mud and debris too, but took it apart and it was fairly clean. Swapped Contactors with a buddy of mine who also has a Warn 2.5ci and it works.....Filled out the info on the online recall form and Warn says a new contactor will be here in 3 business days free of charge!

Next I'll be getting rid of the metal cable and switching to the Synthetic rope.

Its funny, everybody I know that has a Warn has nothing but trouble with it, and everybody that owns the Gorilla has no trouble with the winch or the contactor. I have the better winch and I only paid $64.99 for it. What did you pay for ur Warn? $400.00??? huh?

Default warn winch problem

Have never had a problem with my Warn 2500. Re-greased it last year (it didn't need it) just to make sure all was okay. I don't submarine my ATV in mud or water, so, you guys that do must have more time or more money for maintenance than I do.

I have an idea those Gorilla winches are made by Warn, but, can't prove it. They sure look alike to me.

My Warn contactor was included in the recent recall and a replacement should arrive soon. Other than that, I plow with mine and on one occassion have had to use it to pull myself out from between two trees I got stuck between.

I recommend getting an Amsteel synthetic winch rope with whatever winch you end up with. Hanging your hand on a cable burr one time will convince you the $50 is well worth it!

You sure know alot. Let me count the things that I know of that you know:

1. Everybody that you know, that has a Polaris, hates their Polaris.
2. Everybody that you know, that has a Warn, has trouble.
3. You know every aspect of the ATV frame welding techniques.

How do you know so much, but portray to know so little? That is an art!

From what I have read on some winch tests in one of the magazines, the Warn and Ramsey are made in the US. Everything else comes from China.

Mr Instigater,, Ur twisting my words around, first when it comes to Polaris im talking about the older models of the Polaris that were sold in the mid 90's those are junk, the new models of the Polaris ATV's have improved but Polaris has a hard time shaking their past bad reputation. Second, the Warn Winch im talking about the cheap, generic Warn winch that was free or for $69 when you purchaced a new atv, those are the troublesome Warn's. Third, the welds on any atv frame are done with a strict manfacturing process with high tech engineering specs and testing, the manufactuer has a legal obligation to make sure their frame welds hold. Im just giving honest facts, im not an expert on everything, but most things, I still can't understand how women think.
