Well it shouldn't be double the price... But 2500 WILL Do the job, although 3000 is much better as far as endurance goes - it's set up much better.

I'd get the 3000.

 

if you were to purchase a 3000lb. id recomend the warn xt. its water sealed and has a mechanical brake and comes with synthetic rope. i had the 2500 on my bike and it shot craps b/c of the water/mud hole riding i do. the 3000 dont bog down either. purchased it for $425 shipped to my door. look around on the winch sites youll find one.
