Default Frame Welding

Yes i was lookin at my frame and notice that i have cracks on the welds where my suspension is mounted to the frame. THe cracks only go half way down the weld and is only a hairline thick. I know that i have to weld it to fix it but i was wondering if by welding on the crack i would weaken the welds that are uncracked?
Thanks

I would grind the factory welds down as much as possible and start with a new weld.

brcareful not to heat it up too much at one time as you will weaken the metal even more.

on thin metal like this you will just need to grind the paint off before welding. MIG welding would be fine (most factory welds are MIG), but if you know a buddy with TIG, that would be the ultimate. i have welded on several atv frames without any problem, and the biggest problem i has was keeping from buring through, so no need to grind the weld out. the new weld will burn through for a 100% weld with very little effort.
