Coulter is a mindless drone who makes a living off the discontent of the American people. It is pathetic. I don't think people should capitalize on that to fill their own pockets and people who do ought to be seen for what they are. Now normally people who make a living off the discontent of the American people are elected officials. Those who can't hack it there wind up on talk radio or writing books. They of are the same ilk.

Well, today we went to the local dealer and tested out the polaris 800efi X2 and the outy 650 max before the rain really hit. The can-am representatives were there with their 18-wheeler full of all their quads and I got to talk to them pretty heavy. Here are my takes after today.
CAN-AM:
The representative said the HP numbers for each the atv was:
OUTY 800 = 62hp
OUTY 650 = 52hp
OUTY 500 = 46hp
OUTY 400 = 36hp
We rode the outy 650 max. As far as power, it is very strong, however, I was not thrilled in the handling. The front shocks are not all that great. It would dive when hitting bumps or going into turns and it was as hard to steer as my bf 750. The rear TTI IRS was very good and seemed stable. But the gear shifter was hard to move, which the representative had to get it out of reverse due to it jamming. My brother and I rode together (this was the 2-up machine) so we could get the feel of the handling with two people. It seemed comfortable and in the 2nd seat, it was stable. However, we felt too close to each other and when the front end dove, we would almost hit bodies.
Overall, the can-am650 max is a pretty good 2-up quad, but the front end diving problem and the slight difficulty of turning was a turn off. My bf750 has enough bump steer and slight difficulty in turning so I don't want the 2-up machine that I get to be that way.
POLARIS 800 X2:
We actually rode the polaris 800 X2 first before testing the can-am's. The polaris representative said the HP numbers for their atvs were:
POLARIS 800 = 55hp
POLARIS 700 = 49hp
POLARIS 500 = 40hp
POLARIS 450 = 34hp
The handling and ride on the polaris 800 X2 was a dream. It was extremely comfortable weather we were slow riding or going 35mph, it was just great. And the small ditch that the outy650 max had front end diving problems with handled it with one hand on the handle bars. In the 2nd riders seat, the results were the same, very comfortable and very stable. Power wise, I almost stood the atv straight up in the wet grass from a stand still with my brother on the back (he was not pleased...LOL). But I wanted to see what it would do and WOW, extremely powerful. I did the same thing on the outy 650 max and it stood up, but only about a foot off the ground. And the turning radius is very very good even with the "turf" mode not on. AND, turing the polaris 800 X2 was so easy that we could do it with one hand at any speed. It was just a great quad and we were totally impressed.
As far as the next door arctic cat dealer (which is owned by the honda dealer in between this dealer and the ac dealer), they would not let us ride their quads. UGH!!! So I will try to find another AC dealer to test the 650 TRV H1.
SUMMARY:
Power: Polaris 800 X2 has more than the outy 650 max, but I am sure the outy 800 max would have more than the polaris800 X2, however I don't see spending the xtra $.
Steering: Hands down the polaris 800 X2
Handling: Again, hands down the polaris 800 X2
Comfort: Again, the polaris 800 X2
MISC: The polaris 800 X2 has the folding seat and dump bed, so you always have the 2nd rider seat with you and the 400 LB carring capacity off the dump bed makes it vert versatial.
NOW THE FUNNY STUFF:
Now when I was talking to the dealer about the price, he would come off the MSRP only $50. I LOL very loudly. He gave me the following:
polaris 800 X2 = $9949 for the deluex model (MSRP was $9999)
Freight & Prep = $500
Shipping Cost = $549
Doc Fees = $75
5 year extended warrenty = $1100
Their dealers service plan (optional and make me a priority customer...haha) = $200
For a grand total of $12373.............LOL............................ .HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA . And that was farm exempt!!
I told him to keep his quad and he will be out of business someday when the local people go to other dealers. This dealer has been known for outrageous prices and now I really see it. Now I called a few other dealers that were 30minutes to 2 hours away and the best out the door price with the same atv and warrenty was $9600. I also called a place called Albernathys in Union City, TN and their OTD price was $8249 w/o the warrenty and with the warrenty it was $8949. SO:
Has anyone dealt with Albernathys and if so, are they truthful? If so, I was going to get them to fax or email me a sales agreement with the OTD price before making a two day road trip.
ALSO: Does anyone know of a polaris dealer that is within 12 hours of houston that has good prices? Well, thanks for any information and good safe riding and God bless.

Can you explain??? So far ahead a decade ago no need for changes, yet.[/q Look at the difference in the Engines to start with. Polaris has a push rod two valve per cylinder low RPM engine with questionable reliability. That makes less HP than a 650 outty or a 750 BF and only a little more than a 700CAT. Then they are also the Jenny Craig of ATVs.

Because he wants a frame that can withstand the weight of two people. Seriously though watch the show I mentioned prior if possible and watch when they flip the two over. I'd be shocked to hear you say you wanted the Can-Am then. It becomes real obvious why it weighs less. You roll that bike and it's done. You'll have a $10k pile of plastic.
